K2 was selected to directional bore a new eight inch water main under an existing creek. Although winter presents unique challenges to boring because of the use of water in the drilling machines, it was the perfect time to complete this bore because the creek was frozen and could be traversed for locating purposes. The 300 foot bore was completed in 2 days.

K2 Construction was selected as the geothermal contractor on this 54 hole ground source heat pump system. Even though the project took place in the winter and the location of the holes was in the bottom of a future detention pond, K2 personnel found a way to keep the drill rigs from sinking in the mud and complete the project. This project included drilling, open cut excavation, supply and return piping and directional boring.

K2 Construction was selected by the City of Underwood, IA to replace a portion of its aging sanitary sewer. Although digging along an existing sanitary sewer line is always a challenge, K2 managed to complete the project without any major slow-dows or disruptions.

K2 Construction was selected to install 15 geothermal wells and all of the supply and return piping. Initially K2 sub-contracted the drilling out to another contractor, but when the drilling proved too hard for them to complete, K2 had no choice but to send their own drill and crew to the site. Although winter conditions and tough geology presented numerous challenges, the holes were drilled to specification and the project was completed on time.

K2 was selected by Hausmann Construction to install all of the site utilities on the Devaney Sports Complex expansion. This fast paced project was a logistical challenge as there were many different sub-contractors on the site at the same time. Moving around cranes, trucks and concrete crews was an everyday event for the K2 crews. The challenges were overcome and K2 completed their portion of the work on time. 

K2 Construction was selected by the City of Grand Island to replace approximately 2000 linear feet of ductile iron water main. The successful completion of this project by K2 cmployees re-inforces K2's ability to complete difficult projects even when they are outside of SE Nebraska.

K2 has performed water rehabilitation projects all over the City of Lincoln, but the task to replace 3000 feet of water main on a major arterial street during the UNL football season was a challenge. K2 overcame the challenge by using creative construction techniques including open cutting portions of the project and directional boring others.
