Sapper Construction

Origin:

Sapper Construction derived its name from the term "Sapper", which in the United States Army is a combat soldier who performs a wide variety of combat engineering duties, typically including, but not limited to, bridge-building, laying or clearing minefields, demolitions, field defenses, general construction and building, as well as road and airfield construction and repair.  This name was chosen for the company because of its military ties and because this is what one of the owners of the company did while serving by the United States Army.

Background:

Sapper Construction, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB), was started by Travis Sondgeroth and Tom Rogge in 2006 in order to provide owners and large general contractors with a SDVOB contractor that performs quality work safely and efficiently.  Sapper Construction specializes in a variety of construction disciplines, but specifically targets projects that are on military installations, Veteran's Administration Hospitals or opportunities that have been set-aside for SDVOB's.

Clientele:

Sapper Construction has focused most of its construction efforts right here in the state of Nebraska.  To date, Sapper Construction has worked for clients such as:

  • Offutt Air Force Base (55th Contracting)
  • The City of Lincoln, Nebraska
  • The Lincoln Veteran's Administration Hospital
  • The Omaha Veteran's Administration Hospital
  • Hawkins Construction
  • JE Dunn Construction
  • Ryan and Associates
  • Verizon Wireless

Going Forward:

Sapper Construction continues to try and improve its services and grow the geographical region in which it works.  Sapper Construction will consider any opportunity within the 48 contiguous states as well as Hawaii and Alaska.  Sapper actively seeks Joint Venture opportunities on single projects, IDIQs, and MATOCs.  Sapper Construction is fully insured and currently has bonding limits of $6 million per project and $15 million aggregate.
